We are pleased to announce that The SAAFE Center was able to raise $131.50 through the Chipotle Fundraiser on November 20th and $574 through the Hump Raiser at The Stones Throw on December 4th. That is $705.50 that we were able to raise to directly benefit victims of sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking. We would like to thank everyone who came out to these events to support The SAAFE Center.
Three males and one female adults employed by the Steubenville City Schools have been indicted by a Grand Jury in connection with the 2012 rape of a teenage girl for which two male football players were found guilty of in March, 2013. On Monday November 25, 2013, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced that these four adults were being charged with crimes that include tampering with evidence, allowing underage drinking, and failure to report child abuse or neglect. These four school officials made an attempt to protect the institutions rather than worrying about the victim.
